Position Overview: 

We are seeking an Automation Application Engineer to deliver turn key control solutions for the SYNCMAX deployment. Operating within the Grid Connection and Power Control team, you will take ownership of the automation solution project delivery — from project kickoff to operation—ensuring smooth execution in terms of quality, schedule, and budget.

This role requires experience in control & monitoring solution (Siemens, Schneider Electric, CopaData,...), and know how of deployment and commissioning roles in industrial area and. You will interface with the SYNCMAX project Tech Lead to guarantee project execution meets client specifications, complex Grid Code requirements, and long-term maintainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project execution:

·        Specify the project automation architecture to ensure compliance with clients expectation and utilities requirements.

·        Deploy the automation solution execution within the SYNCMAX project scope, guaranteeing on time solution delivery, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. 

·        Act as the principal automation application engineer within the Project Team, ensuring seamless coordination on scheduling, site missions, and automation deliverable management.

Solution test & validation:

·        Perform co-development with SCADA team to guarantee the integrity of the SYNCMAX control & monitoring solution,

·        Test & validate the SYNCMAX control & monitoring solution through SIL/HIL test platform,

·        Demonstrate sites performance for grid utility compliance validation,

·        Guarantee strict compliance with client technical specifications, regional Grid Code requirements, and standard SYNCMAX architecture.

·        Monitor and alert on site risks and effective mitigation implementation,

Continuous improvement:

·        Contribute to solution standardisation and enhancements thought project capitalization and regional development.

·        Share actively technical knowledge and good practises across the SYNCMAX team.

Qualifications:

·        Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automation, or a related technical discipline.

·        Experience: Proven track record in automation development and deployment within the renewable energy, power generation, or electrical substation sectors.

·        Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Automation control and SCADA systems environment.

o   Strong familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, Profinet, IEC61850) and Grid Code compliance.

o   Experience overseeing testing and commissioning (FAT/SAT)

·        Soft Skills: High autonomy & good organizational skills. Ability to adapt to new environment and site operation constraints.

·         Strong analytical mindset for process change impact and operation risk mitigation.

·        Languages: Fluency in French and professional proficiency in English are required to manage international coordination.
